Here is WAPO article on summer weather. It's a share, so you should be able to access and bypass paywall

Using the calculator in the article, where I live in NH summer is 10 days longer than when I first came here 30 years ago. I know that my areas has moved up one climate zone and that this year we had 25 days (so far) of 90+ temps. The historical average is 13 with the highest being 30. We still have a month to go and it is possible that we will break the record this year. Very depressing for someone like me who enjoys cool temps and cold water fishing

Does that mean winter is shorter? Maybe that’s not a completely horrible thing on an individual level for an individual living in NCW. Could it mean that good cold water fishing picks up a little earlier and then in the fall it gets good again and stays good a little later?
I mean there are things that suck about it but it’s not all doom and gloom for everything. There will likely be continuing trade-offs. Carpe diem, we are only here a short time.

It was behind a pay wall for me.
As Matt B suggests, could lengthen fishing time on streams, but only if regulations/seasons change.
Will spawning times also change because of such?
