Living in a house in a forest we have had quarterly pest control visits for many years. I hadn't noticed any Yellowjacket activity this year and thought it was kind of unusual but in today's visit he found Yjs had found a way to get in and out of a plastic garbage can with a screw-on lid can that we keep under the deck steps to store kindling in. He removed the top and sprayed it. He will come back Monday if there are any left.
found several YKS in a trap I maintain out the back of our property, first of the year. Will be on the lookout for a ground nest.
