I'm looking for a larger tent for car camping. Something of good quality with a functional rain fly and enough room to move around when it contains a couple of cots. Roomy vestibule is a plus. Whatcha got in your basement that no longer gets any use? Thanks!

I used to have one, I think I picked it up at Big 5 or Fred Meyer.. it was under $100.. ended up giving it away a few years ago as it was just too big for me. The lady I ended up giving it to was very grateful and pleased with it!

I've got a REI Kingdom 8. Might be a bit large for what you're looking for? Got it when my kids were smaller. Has the footprint and large vestibule add on. Pretty much a mud room. We used it for a couple years for family trips to Yellowstone and the Tetons but my kids now sleep in their own small tents. I've used it a couple times as a fishing base camp with cots for 3 guys in the rain and it held up well.

I'd have to check with my wife before committing to selling it though.

That's a seriously big tent!! Probably larger than what we need. It's just me and my wife. But I'll run it by her. My main concern is being able to set it up in a downpour, vs. a smaller tent with fewer poles. But I love the flexibility it would provide.

Damn, wish I could grab this one. Was looking at one just like it and missed a great sale on it. Now dropping my extra money on hospital and IRS. Ugh

I ended up grabbing something from Sierra....Klymit Cross Canyon 4. Really perfect for either just me or me and my teenager with cots and room to spread out and stand (barely in this one). We have one very similar in the 6 person for 3 adults and 2 labs.

Another possibility, I have an old Eureka Timberline 8' x 10' basic A-frame that I no longer use. I think they rated it as a 6-man, but we slept 4 plus a golden retriever. Should work well with two cots.

Hi All. I think that I have a tent that will work. So pending the transaction, this should be solved. Thanks to all, and I hope others may also find an exchange out of this thread.
