NFR World Cup

I guess now know I why they chose "wonder wall". Mexico was relentless but just couldn't find a hole.

It is being reported that the orange man got involved. 🧐.
Even though the decision to reinstate Balogun may be warranted and justified the details of this influenced change sure makes the whole thing seem more than a little slimy and will cast a pall over the rest of the competition should the US side continue to advance. And if they do who do you think will be the first to attempt to take credit for the success?

Yeah, it's not a great look and does taint things. Now they go from underdogs with a chip on their shoulder to feeling guilty.

That said it seems crazy that there is no appeal process for such an impactful ruling. I watched in real time and it sure didn't look to be on purpose. If they had a legit appeals process then this wouldn't be an issue.

My understanding is it was reviewed, including the VAR review. The red card has been upheld at every stage. The red card still stands, it is just the suspension has been suspended. The real problem now is the lack of transparency. How, why, and by whom was this decision made? I don't think anyone knows. This puts a real cloud over this game.

ETTD....

GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAALLLLLL

I feel like my enthusiasm and excitement to watch this match has been stolen from me by a tasteless intrusion from the outside. And that certainly does a disservice to those who are leaving it all out on the pitch.

USA was outplayed today by a much stronger and aggressive team. The mid field looked very weak. 2 shots on goal doesn't cut it.

Now it's time to enjoy summer and wait for post season baseball.

Go France!

The poor mid field play (lack of talent) has been a chronic USA problem. This has been. especially true for the central mid fielders. Like early in this world cup the US was more than able to hold their own with second tier teams but once they step up to the top dozen teams in the world that weakness becomes glaring.

Bummer. Back to Earth for the US team and fans. Not much went right tonight, but Belgium looked like the better team, start to finish. US Soccer has come a long way, but there's still at least one more long way to go before they can compete for a championship.

Was fun to watch for sure. Looking forward to next time.
