Winter's mostly cool...

@PhilR decided to join me on a mostly futile coastal fishing excursion yesterday....mostly in that we didn't touch any finned creatures, but saw a bunch of elk and he saw a big otter.

road over the pass was decent.....


the access road, was a touch deeper than I typically feel comfortable in my little Prius, but we made it....

uh, same. It looked VERY good though. Shoot, some years it's only fishable for a handful of days in the winter.

It was so good to get out despite the snow. It was funny, as I was working my way down to the river in that last picture I thought I saw someone reeling a float upstream. Dang it someone fishing my water. It was a big otter, so I was kinda right.

Snowing in West Clackamas, started out really powder fine around 7am. Coming from the South, now flakes getting bigger with Gorge wind. Hung up the Hummers feed bottle outside that was staying liquid inside.

Snow…freezing rain…snow…freezing rain…snow….since 5:00am…about 2-3” on the ground. It came from the south as predicted.
