Winter Olympics 2026

Wow! Way to pull out a win USA.

I couldn't get up to watch in real time this morning. I fell asleep watching skating last night and woke up around midnight to watch the end of women's biathlon. Another sport I've never understood.

Biathlon a sport based in Nordic warfare, and survival. I am always in awe!! I have used it as a way to show non-hunters and shooters what "buck fever" and adrenaline does to a person trying to shoot with an elevated heart rate!

My example shoot is this, chair/mat ready, gun loaded/safe, run around the building twice/do 25 sit-ups or push-ups then sit or lay down and sit in less than 5-10 seconds and see what your score is!

Most petle can't show their breathing let alone heart rate!

That's kinda' what I was thinking; excellent training for the Finnish infantry to counter a Russian invasion during winter.

I have always said that the most difficult event in all of the Olympics is the Biathalon...and since the Scandinavian countries all have military units that train like this is the reason they dominate the sport. A full blown cross country ski race is arduous enough; add shooting at targets both standing & prone to it...it is a physically & mentally difficult sport to master.
 
1st off, my apologies to the 2026 US Women's Bobsled program that achieved significant success, earning three medals (one gold, two bronze) including Elana Meyers Taylor and 40 year old Kaillie Humphries who tied the record for most medals by a female bobsledder (six), and Air Force Senior Airman, Jasmine Jones who won her first Olympic medal in her debut, pushing for Humphries. The team is noted for their pride and use of American-made sleds. USA! USA!...

But this was funny...

Oh, it's explicable, he grew up in Michigan bass fishin! As did I, but while I graduated to western salmonids, he shot the moon, cementing himself as the greatest American goalie of all time! He's got the stats, he's got the MVP awards, he's got the Vezina's. . .and now he has the iconic championship performance that had eluded him. He stole that gold medal. US had no business winning that game. He just stole it.
