Winter Olympics 2026

The men's super g was fun to watch with C-S getting silver. Good curling result in the mixed double also.

I was rooting for the pair from Duluth in the mixed doubles in curling…silver medal, not bad for a first Olympics…Ben Ogden of the USA took a silver medal in the cross country sprint, first cross country medal for USA in 50 years

I still believe the toughest event in all of the Olympics is the biathlon…

Portland kid qualifies near the top in the men's halfpipe. I haven't watched that in a few years and its crazy how many flips/spins they do now. I can't even keep track in real time. Be pretty cool for a Mt Hood guy to get a medal.

Women's 10 Km X-country freestyle - amazing - the effort, extraordinary. Check out Jesse Diggins, you cannot give more - congrats.

Shoot, I gotta go to work. Right in the middle of coverage. The lady curlers are playing well.

Hockey!!! Best hockey tournament there is, and it is a rarity and a treat to get to see best on best (men's).
For the women's, just give the US the gold, they are the best women's hockey team to ever step on the ice, Canada couldn't even make a dent on the forecheck. For the men, hold onto hope the US can skate with Canada, the latter being tough to beat,

I've been watching Olympic figure skating off and on since the 1960s. This year I have come to realize that I have no idea what the difference is between a triple sowchow, triple lutz, triple axle, and a triple toe loop. In every one the skater jumps into the air and spins around three and a half times and hopefully lands on his or her skate on not their butt. Perhaps Wiki can learn me sumthin'.

  • Triple Axel (3.5 revolutions):
    • Takeoff: Forward outside edge.
    • Identification: The only jump that takes off forward. Because it starts forward and lands backward, it includes an extra half-rotation (3.5 instead of 3).
  • Triple Lutz (3 revolutions):
    • Takeoff: Backward outside edge, using the opposite toe-pick to launch.
    • Identification: Often preceded by a long, straight-line approach. It is considered difficult because the skater must maintain a counter-rotating (outside) edge.
  • Triple Toe Loop (3 revolutions):
    • Takeoff: Backward outside edge, using the opposite toe-pick.
    • Identification: The most common jump in combinations. It is generally the easiest of the three-rotation jumps.
  • Triple Salchow (3 revolutions):
    • Takeoff: Backward inside edge of one foot, swinging the other leg around for momentum (no toe-pick).
  • 😁 Happy to help.....
