Plunking on the Puyallup?

Feelings were hurt so stays in Montucky.
That's less than accurate. There's a difference between hurt feelings and constantly having your " feelings" ridiculed. This isn't the most tolerant of places for those with views outside the community norm.

Yes, I think we could do with less ridicule of minority opinions here. I'm trying to do better!

It was specifically because we said certain topics were off limits which caused a domino effect of other events.

Which, all in itself, is a perfect example of why we take a hard stance of certain topics being completely off limits here. It's a lose lose for us whether we let them happen or shut them down.

Edit: Despite accusations over the years to the contrary, nearly every single off limits political post I have deleted since we started this forum has been something I agreed with. Some strongly agreed with. Has nothing to do with our own biases. We just plain don't want it here whether we agree with it or not. Some folks wanted the opposite: The ability to have a political battle ground we could hash it out and argue/debate. After much back and forth, mostly through private messages, some folks decided this wasn't the place for them and they moved on.

Thank you for this haven from politics!

Just to be clear, my comments had absolutely nothing to do with moderation..

I don’t even see those with tolerance issues… they have been relegated to the “safe space room”…
Life is is so much grander without seeing what they interject to a conversation. 😉

The mods/admin do great job moderating. In these times, it seems everything is political - unfortunately.

I fish because it is not political, usually. While dirt bagging vs. fly fishing, indicator vs. trolling, dry vs. nymphing, come up, it is all done in fun or easily ignored. The way it should be.

Yeah, there are sports, drones, murder hornets, otters and growing gardens, that are NFR but are easiy to ignore thanks to the software.

I have always asked if a topic I could post is too controversial. The mods/admin respond quickly, which is appreciated a lot.
