Question for you fly tiers. Golden pheasant tippet has a dull side and a bright orange side. I find it very difficult to fold the fibers so that the bright side is showing without misaligning the tips. Is there a reliable way to have the bright side showing on both sides of the fly?
I’ve seen some patterns where they use two pieces. Bright side out on both sides of the hook..

Incidentally, I just found out that using the portrait mode on my cell phone camera seems to result in better pictures of flies and flowers.
I recomend buying a starling skin. Iridescent purply black wet fly feathers galore! And slips from the wings make great paired feather wings.

Carp are starting to show up here in the lowest reaches of the Columbia. Over the past several years we have spent a lot of time just across the bridge on the Oregon side chasing carp when the cutthroat fishing slows down!
