As soon as I finished trimming the head I realized I should have tied a second shoulder of golden pheasant (red); we’ll see if the browns in southern Montana care.

hook - WFC Model 6 #6
thread - SemperFli 8/0 hot orange
butt - UV-X dubbing bright orange
tail - pheasant body feather
rib - small wire copper
body - Ice Dub pheasant tail
hackle - brown
shoulder - pheasant rump
collar/head - deer hair

Not flies; jigs for walleye fishing on spin gear. These are for a fly-in trip next week to an outpost in NW Ontario. Last time we were at this lake, I brought a couple of these. They worked as well as plastics, but held up much longer to toothy critters. Most of my spin gear lives up in MN, so I just used whatever random jig heads I could scrounge up in the garage! (Im also bringing fly gear, but the 'eyes might be pretty deep this time of year)

I’m still trying to figure out what is in the last photo…never heard of blue walleye…
