What's in your vise?

Burning an expensive articulated shank on a rotator? Crazy! Why not just wrap the hook?

(FYI, I run a similar look for the pink buzz bombs my son, and sometimes I "to show him how to fish it" toss for pinks.)
You don’t get it, the extra movement is essential for getting those notoriously tricky pinks to bite.

Really though, I just have a ton of shanks laying around, and with 3 and 1.5 year old kiddos I barely fish anyway, so why not gold plate it!

A couple of bull trout sized musky style flies....clarkman style.

The top is more jerk, the bottom is more glide (not that you would be able to tell without fishing them).

Saw his video and decided to play around with it. Tied enough Rogue-style extended bodies on the needle over the years; using the mono core from the variations on the Carnage bodies I worked up allows me to build the body on the hook and skip the transfer stage.

Anything Pink will work. If there’s a school of fish underneath, they’ll usually take it on the drop or between strips. I like the way the little rubber legs pulse on the hoochie when stripped. I was using an intermediate line and the fly was coming back 5-6 feet down, which was a bit lower than I liked, but they were eating it.IMG_6644.jpegIMG_6638.jpegIMG_6624.jpeg
