What's in your vise?

After the tail I make a dubbing loop of craft fur then trim to shape.
A bigger chartreuse version have done well with smallies:)
Thanks I was looking for the same info for the same reason as PN. Good stuff!

Also any particular reason for the up eye hook on that pattern?

No reason, just happened to have this light ahrex stinger hook on hand. I was going to use a SC15 size 4 too, that would work but this ahrex had a slightly bigger hook gap to accommodate the fur body.

Thanks for this one I need to restock on some foam bodies before the summer season and this one looks tasty.

These things work well. Had a great day in NE Oregonin the spring when the reservoir was very off color. Couldn’t find the fish until I rowed to the farthest point away from the inlet stream that was puking mud into the reservoir. Cast the craw jigs along the riprap face of the dam, let them sink, and then retrieved. The trout pounced on them. They also work for smallmouth bass. Started tying them in olive green when we cleaned a walleye that was full of crayfish that color. Yours look good!

These look killer! I caught my PB Stillwater rainbow on a pattern very similar to this (but not as nice) while bass fishing. It was a hot and sunny July day. Pitched an olive bunny crawdad underneath a dock and it got absolutely crushed. Thought I had a state record LMB on until I realized it was rainbow. It was equal parts stoke and disappointment as it wasn’t the target species 🤣 I’ll have to tie a few of these up this year. Thanks for sharing!
