What's in your vise?

There was a moment where I tied and fished a lot of butt monkeys—they swim well! But they’re so heavy and water logged I hated casting them.
Butt monkeys?? Never heard of them, great name though! My latest fly pattern from my brother in law is the Assclown! Bright colors that doesn’t look like any bug I’ve ever seen! But if it works….

ok, getting a little out of my comfort zone....squid-ish patterns for albacore.

A couple of things, I couldn't find my eyes, so I used a black copic on some eggstasy chenille. looks ok I guess. Also, I couldn't find any of the cross-cut rabbit nor the specific color of bucktail I was after (I know I have a sunrise/sunburst tail somewhere) for the head. I also don't know if I put enough dubbing+eggstasy underneath the saddles for tentacles to push them out far enough to keep them swimming free of each other (should be plenty since I don't do anything like that when I tie the back end of my musky flies and they swim great).

Things I do know: The bucktail up front will lay down into a perfect teardrop shape when stripped/trolled so I'm not terrible concerned there. Anyway, that's that....

All right, I gotta get the eyes further back and the tentacles a little shorter...more later....probably with more bucktail...

all right, still can't find the eyes I was looking for, but I like how this looks to my eye much better...
