I’m going to pinch that pattern. One of my goals this winter is to replenish my trout flies. I love fishing for high-altitude brook trout in NE Oregon and that pattern would work well.Found a Cutthroat Candy fly a while back on Larry Jurgens’ site; vintage 60’s Colorado pattern. Similar to Bongoman’s, just with a Trude wing.

I thought a "cutthroat candy" fly was very different, more like a caddis with a hair back and wing:
This is the chassis, that’s 15lb braid and 3.8mm tungsten black bead in the front.Lou - If you don't mind would you explain the hardware construction of this fly? The tippet tie in and the rest of the steel? Thanks//Pat

Here's what I was thinking of:If you Google Cutthroat Candy fly pattern you'll find a bunch of patterns by the same name. I can remember back in the day when there were a lot of guys calling the Borden Special Cutthroat Candy. God only knows how many different patterns go by the Caddis Fly Larva handle
