If you haven't already try some with a black body for an ant pattern. I've had some really good days in the summer on a sz 14 or 16 black dubbed body with cdc wing. Basically just a black version of your first fly there. Those will be killer!

That cdc caddis has turned into one of my favorite fly patterns. Easy to tie up, and floats great.

keel: several wraps of non-lead weight on the upper bend of the front hook.
Tail Hareline craft fur bunny strip
Body shanks: 1 17mm and 2 25mm
Body: clear game changer chenille
Colors: olive back, orange throat, red gills
Eyes: 3/16 Mirage eyes
Coated the head with Solarez flex UV- considering that the other Solarez UV resins cure hard and dry this one didn’t dry non- tacky even after two hours in the sun.

Nice fly! Photo is slightly out of focus. I use my cell phone for fly photos and I find it works better if I take the picture from farther away and then crop the photo to enlage the fly.
