Here’s his video if you’re interested. Only thing I did differently was tie the underwing in along the sides; acts as outriggers and helps a little bit with floatation.

hook - WFC Model 3 #14
thread - Uni 8/0 camel
butt - yarn chartreuse
body - dubbing Australian possum
underwing - Congo Hair Shiner Tan
wing - caribou
head/collar - hare’s ear (touch dubbed)

Scott

I sat down at the vise wanting to switch it up from what I’ve been tying. And having mentioned bill schaadt the other day in a completely different thread made me want to tie up some of his shad flies for this summers run. Next thing I know I got a phone call and chatted on speaker phone while tying and walked away with a dozen 🤷‍♂️

Adirondack Muddler, size 14. Snowshoe tail and wing, dyed orange snowshoe body, spun deer hair head and collar. Probably my favorite fly. I treat these with permanent silicone waterproofing and they float all day and will hold up small droppers.

In some ways, it's a simplified stimulator but then in other ways, you make it more complex by muddling the head! Great fly!
