What's in your vise?

Another antistatic buzzer. I left gaps between the ASB wraps for ribbing. McPhail's technique for the wing buds is cool, the thorax area is super cool looking as it catches the light at different angles; the pictures don't do it justice.

Throwing together a couple more smallie flies. I was playing around with various brushes. The thinner head actually is made up of much stiffer material so I have a feeling it's going to swim a bit more erratic than the actual fish looking one (without me manipulating it more with my rod).

Body - Chartreuse and black wire

Thorax - Peacock herl

Hackle - Hungarian Partridge

Hook - Mustad 3399, 3906 or equivalent

Thread - UTC wood duck

Body - 1 strand doubled of tan mesh vegetable bag

Ribbing - 1 strand doubled of tan mesh vegetable bag twisted into a rope and colored with a marker

Thorax - Peacock herl

Hackle - Hungarian partridge

Tie in the doubled strand of mesh bag material behind the hook eye and wrap to the bend of the hook to create the body. Now twist the strand into a rope, color with a marker and wrap the ribbing to the eye. Tie off and trim.

Thread - Black
Gills - White uni stretch
Head: Black brass or tungsten bead
Ribbing - 1 strand from a red mesh produce bag
Body – Black holographic tinsel
Thorax - Peacock Herl

Coat the hook shank with crazy glue prior to wrapping the body material

Thorax - Peacock Herl
Head - Black Metal or Tungsten Bead
