What's in your vise?

Thank you @clarkman for the Nayat and premo bucktail.

Heres Nayat squid #1, and first fly tied in almost a year. Digging the Nayat as the perfect squid fly material. White nayat, a bit of white BT, a couple strands of fine lateral scale, and 12mm FTD eyes. The eyes are attached with UV resin to swatches of nylon mesh craft ribbon.

Edit: Almost forgot the hook. It's an Owner 3/0 Aki. Excellent fly hook:

I have no intention of purchasing a full skein of Lion brand yarn for tying a few flies.

I substituted with Uni yarn

Note - William Scripture Jr described a number of his variations of his "favorite fly".

They are labeled for convenience only as, variations A-C.

Not quite what I wanted, but the size 14 3xl w/ 2.8 mm bead is about the right size. A 3.3mm would be closer but I'm cleaning bottom crud as it is. The hare's ear is a more golden/brown than the oliveish the pictures would indicate. 20230716_120233.jpg20230716_122703.jpg

Close enough for horseshoes and fly fishing.
Hare dubbing?
Yes, the dyed golden and brown hare's ear plus dubbing. I like the stuff.
