Atlantic Salmon

Hook - Single salmon
Thread - Black
Tag - Oval silver tinsel
Tail - Golden pheasant crest
Ribbing - Oval silver tinsel
Body - 1/3 yellow floss & 2/3 red floss
Throat - Blue hackle
Wing - Black bear over yellow polar bear or substitute*

*I used bucktail (Sourcing dyed polar bear is next to impossible)

thread - Uni 8/0 fire orange
tail - yarn gold
rib - small wire gold
body - dubbing gold
hackle - black
1st shoulder - Mearns quail
2nd shoulder - dyed orange (1 Tbs Rit Sunshine Orange/1 cup water)

gotta be honest Scott, all of these variants look nothing like anything I have in my box but damn I love the blending & cool colors on not just this one, but all that you post!

First attempt with an articulated fly. Don't think it'll fish worth a shit, and a lot of flaws. Front rabbit strip too long probably, back hook will probably twist. But it's something to build off of.

That’s very kind of you. A lot of the ideas come from the various Irish & U.K. sites; it’s amazing what some of their more effective flies look like, and I really love the colors they use. Some of it works here, too, especially the muddlers, although I have to admit I spend my time on streams with strains of particularly dumb fish (#8 McGintys on snelled hooks you might find in a gas station would probably do just as well).

I will, hoping to be able to sneak out tomorrow and hit some warm water. Just worried the action will be funky.
Think I would have liked the fly more with the single front hook.
But ya don't know if you don't try
