You might try this for a black hook. - Gamakatsu SL45 Saltwater Bonefish fly hooks. I think heavier wire though.

Tail - Pheasant tail fibers, light shade (three to five fibers 1½ gap widths in length)
Ribbing - Olive cotton thread or olive single strand floss

The dubbing at the head is funky but this is one of the better ones of these I’ve tied. I have some Swedish dry fly hooks that sometimes I get inspired to use.
Is that a Traveler vise? If so, where do you get replacement rubber rings? Mine broke and I'm using some small hair bands as a makeshift.

3/8” I.D. O-rings - you can find in any home improvement or auto parts store. I keep 2 spares on my vise shaft, just in case.

I keep meaning to do this, but a vegetable rubber band wrapped around there until tight worked for years until it broke, and then a replacement rubber band was as close as the kitchen junk drawer...but I might randomly remember this next time I go to the hardware store now.

What are you using for dubbing in place of peacock herl on all but one or two? It (and the flies) look great!

Zak, the original pattern calls for "dark olive sparkle blend and grey squirrel dyed olive". I used a dark olive antron dubbing. I think greenish peacock herl would work great.
