Based on some flies Walter sent me years ago in return for some cream foam I found in a craft store; added the CH underwing. Real basic stuff but it floats well, is visible, makes a nice splat when it hits the water and catches fish.

hook - WFC Model 6 #8
thread - Uni 6/0 tan
body - Starburst dubbing tan
overbody/head - 2mm foam tan
underwing - Congo Hair Shiner Tan
wing - deer hair
legs - medium rubber brown
indicator - 1mm foam orange

Scott

My baitfish patterns like these (Finnish) Trash Panda Baitfish swam so good, I decided to tie up a small school of them. Of course, the fish mostly didn't give a shit the other day though (I blame the super nice weather, lower water temps, higher water flows, more turbidity). Because I apparently have the inability to tie the exact same fly more than once, I changed one little thing on each of these.

decided to see what I could do for a bluegill....

mostly bucktail, but tail is from a saddle hackle, head is dubbed. I didn't have any light blue dubbing but threw some light blue bucktail in there....sure hope bass don't have discerning taste...then again, little juvenile bluegills aren't all colored up anyway.

Added a strip of foam on the top of the body (you can barely see it in the 2nd photo) for a bit more buoyancy.

tail - deer hair
body - Starburst dubbing tan
overbody - 2mm foam tan
wing/head - deer hair
legs - medium rubber brown

That’s a good looking fly

@Oliver1329 I'd suggest coating that tinsel on your perdigon with some UV resin, or that thing will last 1 fish before the tinsel explodes. Westslope cutties have teeth. Another alternative would be to rib with wire and/or 5x mono. That pattern will slay though.

I've had good luck with hot spots for westslopes. Both green and orange, and either a bead or floss/yarn off the back. Or even pink or orange ice dub as a collar. Cdc collars seem to work well too. The combinations are literally endless. Good luck out there!
