I really like this pattern. The one in the video looks like natural colors, is yours dyed? Olive would work really well but I’ve never dyed materials myself.

This one is natural, just a darker patch; pheasant rump is easy to dye or bleach (or both).

It's funny that @Scottp's leftover tying materials end up as flies far nicer than the flies I tie with materials fresh out of their packaging. ;-) Nicely done!!

Normally, the folks at the airport who check my bags leave things pretty much undisturbed. When I opened the one my tying stuff was in this morning, things were all over the place. I grabbed a couple of the feathers and piece of yarn that were loose and this is the result; kind of a companion to the Leftover Octopus.

Bored in a hotel on business travel has been a great way for me to tie flies. A lot of my work requires waiting for machines to run or be available.

I'll gather material for a couple of fly types and knock out a bunch. TSA did not like my scissors or tweezers so now I have to check my tying gear.
