What's Catching You Fish?

The venerable February Red continues to be a superior wet for me in cool and cold seasons.

First player was a spunky little fellow.

This buggy little tool fly put a surprising number of trout and short fin grayling into the net last weekend...it's mostly just pheasant body feathers for the body, tail and collar. Only flash is in the dubbed head.

Can you do a sbs on that little bad boy? I want to try it with a orange hot head and chartreuse.

Tied up this dirty little flesh colored bunny on an AJ #7, edge bright over tinsel rear half, bunny spun in a loop loosely palmered front half, 2-3 turns light brown hen, orange and pink Finn Coon wing, 3 turns white Coque

Water was clear enough but a bit high and fast for this old fart. OK though, no where am I more content than cillin' by the river.

This ugly thing accounted for two steels, including a wild hen, today. The water was high and off colored today, (surprise), and I was using a Hoh-bo type spey fly and was thinking I should use something bigger and louder. I hung up on a rocks couple minutes later and broke off and found this in my box. Two casts later I scored. Love it when things work out like that.
