Many years ago, I caught a similar bright fish in an Oregon S river. I thought it must be a "jack steelhead" but after looking closely, I could finally see the hint of orange color under the jaw. At the time, one of my fishing buddies was a regional fish biologist for the river where I caught the fish. It was his opinion that it was indeed a SRC fresh from the salt.
