What are you listening to?

I’m obsessed with this song this week. The little guitar lick between the stanzas just slays me, the lyrics are relatable/great (“the only chik fil a back in the day was in the mall”), and the video is funny and reminds me of the neighborhoods I grew up in.

Local bands in the late 60s liked to cover The Youngbloods' "Get Together". I was in a band in 1970-1972 that did a cover of the "Get Together" 1969 single re-issue B-side; "Beautiful", that was on the Elephant Mountain LP.

Having been married for over 31 years and recently retired, my wife still works but lets me fish and hunt. I have been salmon and steelhead fishing since April and am still living down by the river. We see each other on weekends. I sent her the lyrics to this song along with the video. Great anniversary card or just a reminder of how important your partner is to living a good life.
