What are you listening to?

I introduced my 9 year old to Dark Side of the Moon just yesterday on this rental house’s surround sound system. He was listening intently, I could tell. I hadn’t listened in a while and damn it sounded really good.
I was just out of the Navy and going to college when Dark Side of the Moon was released. Charlie, a classmate and his family used to come over for dinner sometimes. Charlies son was maybe five or six back then; Sean was mesmerized by Dark Side of the Moon. When he was a teenager Charlie and I treated Sean and his little brother to Pink Floyd at the Kingdome. It was a lot of fun.

Saw the DSOTM tour Quad sound at the Portland Colosseum in 1973

I remember listening it to it on a Quadraphonic system, a system that was quite the deal in 1973...did some enhanced listening of it that evening and found it quite interesting. I'll bet the modern day surround systems with a mix appropriate to the system sounds great.

This house appears to date to the 90s but the built in overhead speakers give a cool experience. Sound from overhead? Am I in retail environment? Ha

Buddy Guy, keeping it alive with a new album coming out this week (Ain’t Done with the Blues)

“Music is like a bowl of real good gumbo. They got all kinds of meat in there. You got chicken in there, you got sausage in there. You got a seafood in it. ... When we play music, we put everything in there.” Buddy Guy
