What are you listening to?

Wow, I thought somebody remembers THAT BAND.

Then I realized that THAT BAND was Big House not Big Country.

I do enjoy listening to British and Scottish country music simply to understand that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

I first heard it in 1976 bicycling through Europe. Really bad stuff.

Glad to see that the Brits have started making better country music, just like the French have finally learned to make good cheap wine.

Anyway, Big House was a great country band. Not sure why they never clicked, maybe because the music was too good.

Here is their concert in Bakersfield, with a funny introduction by Buck Owens, with his early symptoms of dementia. At 51 minutes he talks about Al Green the soul singer, and the song they wrote "Sunday in Memphis".

Great band. Just shows being good isn't good enough sometimes.

Thanks.....now I have to find my old CD's.

Note the guitar tone- I just ordered another of this one. The recording is amazing. Robben Ford is one of the owners of an Alexander Dumble amp he tweaked. Interesting story!
