What are you listening to?

That reminds me. I belong to Abeja wine club. Two days after John Prine died ( in early April) i opened this bottle of chardonnay and we drank it sitting outside. And i sent this email to Jordan who was the contact guy i order from.

Jojo, being the vinophile you are, I wonder if you are aware of the song 'Winter Wine' by the group Caravan? The song is an absolute classic with a soaring and gliding melody and a storyline about how our dreams can seduce us. There is a live version from a German TV show that is jaw-dropping that you could probably access on a streaming account, I think you would really like it.

I have a tendency to go down rabbit-holes on YouTube, usually starting with 60's rock, pop, soul, or blues. Thought I'd share a mini-trek, kicked off by looking for some pre-Mamas & Papas Cass Elliot. I knew she could sing anything, but this was a pleasant surprise:

That brought me to another song by "The Big Three" (does this tune sound familiar?):

The guy pictured on the right, Jim Hendricks, wrote this next one, which is a favorite from Johnny Rivers (circa 1968). This is a live version from about 10 years ago (still sounding great):

I was just a kid when all this stuff was new, but the music from that era somehow got burned into my brain, and is still my preference (although I'm always open to new artists/styles).
