What are you listening to?

A whole lot of these guys recently. This is a fun cover for this northeast boy.

This music video changed my life. I started playing guitar 2 years prior and I was a les paul guy. Then John showed his Olympic White Fender American Stratocaster to me and I was in love. That was 20 years ago. I finally bought my American this year. Guess the wife felt I deserved it somehow.

Strats are so cool. I started as a strat guy 38 years ago. Funny, I'm now more a les paul guy, but there's nothing better in music than a strat on that front neck single coil pickup through a good tube amp. No denying it. Thump. thump. So good.

My brother-in-law took me to see Garnet a couple of months after; he played this song and it was all I could do to keep it together. This song has been played every year on this date for 29 years now; it's been a lifetime.

I enjoyed this new recording of one of my favorite LZ songs that includes Tedeschi/Trucks who are always in my heavy rotation given the southern blues rock in my DNA.

Led zeppelin did it as a cover too. It's a very old song.

Well.....led zeppelin was all covers in their beginning.

I got my copy of Urge Overkill's new album, "Oui!" and like it a lot. for me, UO is one of those "shoulda been great" bands that self-destructed, mostly drunkenness and drugs, what else is new. The two prime movers from the band are back at it, and although it's not "Saturation," it has some great songs. Interestingly, they start the CD (yes, I bought a CD) off with a cover song, Freedom - yes, the Wham! hit of yesteryear. Better than the original, for sure, but I was never a Wham! fan.

I’ll have to check that out. I was just listening to the Stull recording the other day. I think Stull the song is probably my favorite of theirs although it’s a bit of an earworm that lodges is my head.
