What Are You Fishing For This Weekend?

I hit my favorite Western WA trout stream today. It wasn't epic, but it wasn't bad either. 3 cutts over 15", a bigger one lost, and a sighting/spooking of what must have been a rare summer steelhead (fish of 5 or 6 pounds with a blue back... not a cutthroat). Good day overall, and I only fished two holes (it's about a half mile downstream to the next good water, so I called it a day after pounding the honey holes and finding a small measure of satisfaction). I'll be back on Monday to get serious.

Steelhead and salmon fishing can be a crowded-out bust on weekends, but I usually do just fine for trout.

Skunk is a big part of springer fishing, no way around it.
Those fish can be tough, no doubt about it. Good bait is the closest thing to a sure bet, but nothing's all that close in reality. Just put in your time, and you'll eventually score. I don't have the patience or will to drive the distance I have to in order to catch one these days, so I wish the die hards good luck.

Apparently this is what I was fishing for...😬

I did connect briefly with my intended quarry but didn't stay pinned.
