What Are You Eating?

Working on a new to me recipe for pulled pork, with Mexican chilis. I used my new to me carbon steel Schrade USA Sharpfinger to debone the pork butt, that is a handy little knife. Should be ready this evening.

Looks good, but fish and chips should always be served in newspaper (I'm too old to worry about toxicity issues now) :)

cheers
When I used to visit my grandparents in MA as a kid, my grandma would take me to to the local fish and chips joint…she knew when they would change the oil…and they always wrapped it up in the local newspaper…

Baby back ribs, meatloaf, garlic bratwurst, corn on the cob and cheddar-bacon baked potatoes all applewood smoked and bbq’d.

Can you find corn worth eating? The only corn available here (Safeway) has about the same texture as cardboard but does not taste as good.

The corn came from QFC and was good. It’s always much better later in summer. It probably didn’t hurt that I smoked it some as well.

I almost always grill my corn now. I also got mine from QFC right by me and it was good. It was also pricey, at 4 shucked ears for $6.99, but did taste good!

Cornish game hen. On Sunday I air fried a plump little hen using the same rub I use for ribs. Along with some veges I ate the wings, legs and thighs and put the rest in the fridge. I made a big batch of Jasmine rice Sunday night and on Monday used the rest of the hen to make fried rice. There was actually quite a bit of meat on that little bird. The rice, with carrots, onions, orange bell peppers and eggs was unusually good, I think as a result of the rub I used. It was a huge amount of food, more than I could possibly eat in one day so I finished the rest of it today. Three good meals out of one little midget chicken, not bad!

Didn't want the morels picked Monday night to get mushy, so pulled them out of the fridge for a while. Was warming up some biscuits and gravy, and just had to sautée one to top my fancy Tupperware breakfast. Forgot how good they are.

Hoping they'll still be good for a family party on Saturday. Kinda thinking a simple morel pasta.
