Was i way off base in my assumption?

Drinking some regular strength beer on the patio. It's a sunny day and the first of the year above 75F here in Salt Lake City.

Le Cigare Volant 2016

Nice, reasonably priced GSM blend from Bonny Doon in California.20220409_162744.jpg
A very good value at 17 bucks, pretty well made Rhone blend wine, and one we like after a couple of hours in the decanter.
Recommend..

Sampling Manhattans out of the barrel, been on the oak for 60 days. Michter’s rye and Gonzalez Byass vermouth.

Another Italian night, another Chianti...20220423_194339.jpg
Very nice, this stuff will drink for a few more years easy.
Needs a long decant, but pretty decent with food.
;)

Love my porters and stouts, as well as dunkels and bocks.

Haven't been able to drink much due to meds for carpal and severe arthritis, but, just finishing my first Narrows Brewing Giant Pacific Octopus in a long time, ( been stashed in garage)while eyeing the 70+ yro bottle of Four Roses my father left when he passed and wondering when I'll be able to get to that.
Also have some Yeungling chocolate porter to work on too.

A trip to Costco (first time in 2 years) and picked up a lamb leg for the grill...good thing we had this already in stock.
Great...not good... but great Chianti.
Highly recommend....
