Using these

The foam fly was actually first fly/first hole/first day because it was something new I was playing with, but after that the rest of the week was dedicated to mostly Irish lough flies. With all the sun, glare, shadows, crummy eyesight and questionable casting ability, I have to admit I cheated a bit using a tiny New Zealand strike indicator to help locate the flies on the water, but they certainly did the job. Thanks to the folks cross The Pond for sharing such cool designs.

I used a similar foam crane fly in Montana. They loved it skated. My next version will have the foam strip doubled over like yours.

Bit of a drive from the campground; short walk to the water.
