No, it was behind every bush. There just isn't any trees up the close to the Artic Circle. I was stationed outside of the Thule Air Force base at Thule,
Greenland. We had a small post 13 miles away from all the noise. We were there to support the US Army. They were the ones that drove the D8 Cats out on the Ice Cap for those guys doing what ever they did out on the ice. Up that far north you had to keep all vehicles running 24/7 Until they came back to the small base we had out there. It was kind of exciting to say the least.

My wife's uncle, our fave relative and still with us at 89, was a Canadian military radar operator assigned to the joint force DEW line operation at Thule AFB around the same time. He has some stories...
