USPS inefficiency with a simple shipment

I got the same piece of mail with the incorrect address three times in the last ten days.
First time I put a sticky on it with “wrong address”.
Second time I paper clipped a note stating the address was wrong (SW vs NW) and the zip code was wrong. I also noted the person it was addressed to didn’t live at my address.
Received it again on Thursday and happened to be outside when the mailman showed up on Friday
Explained the situation to him. He took a sharpie and blacked out the bar code on the back. I bet I would have gotten it a fourth time if I hadn’t spoke with him. That piece of mail was trapped in a vicious cycle. Hopefully the guy in Burien receives it soon.

Is there a bar code on it ? Line thru that with your sharpie.
When we get that problem, we've also lined thru the address with a ball point. Only had 1 come back

The mailman put a line through the barcode on both the front and the back with a black sharpie as you can see. That didn’t solve the problem as they just added a new barcode.
I think at this point I’ll put this mail piece in an envelope and send it like a new piece of mail…..but without a return address on it.
I’d say they lost money on this one!
