Yup, the "MT residents" that have lived there for 6 months can get pretty spun up by out of staters and Wa now seems to rank just below California.
Don't worry, you can just get them back when most of them come over here to guide for steelhead.

The reduction in shoppers is pretty darned large. It is already having a measurable economic impact.

Walked in on some co-worker discussing a recent trip to van. Island. No issues from the locals for them.
I could see having issues in some lumber producing areas depending on how tomorrow goes. Overall, I have found Canadians to be so kind when I was up there that I would not be overly concerned.
It sucks that anyone has to even think about this sort of thing.

That's a sad and unfortunate side effect of our defense. For the sake of our country, yours, and others globally, let's hope all this aggression will stop very soon. But I'm not at all optimistic.
So far, one of the few good things we Canadians have seen is a massive and much-needed increase in grocery stores' donations of unwanted U.S. produce to our food banks. But those donations are leveling off, as our grocery sector develops other supply sources, including within Canada:

Am I the only one whose had a 18' boat & trailer stolen in Nanaimo?
Been up there a number of times with my travel trailer and will be headed up again in late August. My wife and I love Canada (we are usually in BC or Alberta) and never have any issues. If anything, the issues( especially with retard WA drivers) are usually down here.

I've crossed the candian border at least 20 times last year, and at least 20 times this year. My oldest son plays in a Canadian hockey league amd we spend a ton of time up there. Nothing has changed. Border patrol is professional and they do their job. Period. This applies for both sides. Obey they laws and regulations and you'll be fine.
If you are not a US citizen that may not be 100%. As a green card holder it is not clear to me at all. I’m as honest as they come or at least I am a law abiding citizen but there’s a fear re coming back to my home that should not exist. As I’d noted earlier I’m frustrated as I bought a boat to go explore Kamloops as I grow into retirement age and now I can’t with any confidence. I’ll live vicariously through others.

As a American citizen I was getting stopped and almost stripped search coming back to the US starting in 2014. It seems a President in 2014 issued an executive order for "special examination" of former Venezuelan citizens.
I even got stopped at the Nighthawk border crossing while LEAVING the US on the US side of the border!!!! Nighthawk!!!! They must have linked my license plate to a document with my birthplace on it.
When I got my bio-metric passport, the inspections were started but immediately halted after scanning my passport. Not sure what is on it, but after I die it is the first thing I am going to hand to St. Peter.

My father was a green card holder, but was officially "stateless". Back in the day, he could travel to Canada on his drivers license.
He always wanted to go back and visit Ukraine after the Soviet Union fell. Coming back to the US was not an issue, but traveling in unstable countries while stateless leaves you wide open to all sorts of bad things.
Later in his life, the standards for US citizenship were significantly dropped and he could have easily passed the exam, but by then it was getting difficult for him to travel. He would have had all sorts of issues traveling in the Soviet Union. It is doubtful, that they would have allowed him to return to the US.
BTW.....the citizenship tests were much harder in 1969. My last question, which at that time, was an oral exam administered by a Federal official, was "what were the ramifications of the Jacksonian movement on the American political system".
It was a good thing I was a straight A student in American history.
Canada goes through cycles of anti-American behavior.
I lived in Canada in 1973 and 1974. I quit replacing the car antenna after the third time it was snapped off and had the truck keyed a couple of times. I probably should have changed my license plates, but did not want to lose my stateside insurance company for the provincial government insurance which was much more expensive. After that I was always careful traveling in Canada.
Granted this cycle came in response to the US rather than being organically grown in Canada.
