Upcoming BC Trips

Went to that and all of the posts except for the last few are from Jan. 26, which is before current events. The last five posts are from the past week and four of those have been moderated away. Not exactly a vote of confidence.
I'm more worried about parking in the greater Seattle area.
Again, we all know what current events are and there is no need to bring them up. My concern is with the sentiment of common folks in the Nicola and Kamloops areas as of now and going forward. I think as we get further into iceoff and turnover, I'll revisit this topic. Those that know me know I go up there a lot and have had nothing but great experiences with the locals. So we'll wait and see...
I did go up last month and buy some used tires from a guy. He was leery but I was able to disarm him with my charming personality and get a great deal on some tires.
Most of the threads on US travel to Canada seem to revolve around what you think they would revolve around.
I'm headed to BC later this Summer. Trying to figure out which persona I should try on. I do need a question answered by any BC residents here. Does East Coast style play in the West?
I belive if you follow the "Golden Rule", and the Smart Style rule "Respect Gets Respect", you'll be fine.

I too would be more worried about parking my vehicle at Three Dollar Bridge ,a few reports in recent years of out of state vehicles getting their tires slashed . Although it's been awhile since being in Canada with a vehicle , I have never had any issues .

Kinda like Dave Boyle, I'm a little concerned about re-entering the US. I've sent a bunch of emails to the White House, various department heads, and the congressional majority leaders. I wonder what sort of list I'm on. Sure hoping they'll believe me when I say my doctor already checked my prostate this year.

During the first Trump administration I got put on a list. For about a year, every boarding pass had "ssss". Fun times. They'd shut down the security line I was in while I got very thoroughly checked. Got interviewed by the FBI in the Paris airport. Small airports didn't know what to do with me. I joke but I am a wee bit concerned about the return. Before retirement, one of the hats I wore required regular FBI background checks and so traveling was never an issue. Hopefully I'm simply overthinking it....I guess I'll know by lunchtime Thursday

Spent a few days in Vancouver and North a bit in January, with WA plates AND a BMW and never gave it a thought. We're headed to the Canadian Rockies in June and same. I'm more concerned that Medicare doesn't cover us up there and have to figure out the insurance thing before I go.
WW, I haven't heard of any negative issues about Americans visiting in my neck of the woods (British Columbia).
But I have read of some folks who don't have U.S. passports having bad experiences as they try to enter (or re-enter) the U.S. A few countries, such as Germany and France, have issued "updated" advice for their citizens traveling to the U.S.
One interesting bit of advice I read by an immigration lawyer (an American, I think), for Americans who have dual citizenship with any other country, is to only use their U.S. passports. KISS principle.
Enjoy your fishing trip here, and try to leave your worries behind. That's what fishing's all about, right?

might be an apples to oranges comparison (Victoria to the Interior) but my wife and I had no problems traveling this past week.
Some locals even shared their support for the dissent type bumper sticker my wife has on her WA plated rig. And when away from the vehicle, we didn't notice any stink eye or any sort of slight....in fact, some went out of their way to be welcoming.....just as we've experienced in the past.
Jury is still out for returning to the US, though. Had the vehicle searched in secondary....supposedly because a new transfer from the southern border didn't know what to do with the stamped & sealed flower seeds my wife purchased at the Butchart Gardens. Guess I'll wait to see what happens when passing thru SeaTac next week.
