Total impulse buys that turned out to be awesome

Epic "El Bandito" (Bandit) gen1 7'9" 10wt glass blank. My go-to tiger musky rod. I look for any reason to fish this rod, it's just so damn fun.

They had this crazy sale where it cost less than $200 shipped from NZ. Had my own builder build it out for me with several sweet customizations.

Walked into a gun shop and saw a Remington 1100 Special Field semi-auto and picked it up. Very nice balance for an auto loader and liked how it felt overall. The barrel looked a bit short and I thought 24", OK I can live with that. Turned out to be 22". Nicest and fastest swinging shotgun I have ever shot. It may well, be the very best hunting shotgun in several situations I have owned that encompasses maybe 18 sooth bores I can think of off hand. The best over all pretty close but I have an OU that takes that spot for most situations but not all and then the Auto Loader comes into play.

I dearly love my smooth bores. Almost as much as my favorite fly rod a Scott V-2.

Used my Monomaster for many years, but can't find it at present 😕
Phone tether and popsocket (a few bucks on Amzn) have saved my phone from countless dives into the drink.

I had a single cab tacoma, bench seat, manual transmission. I loved that truck even tho i am 6’2 and my wife is 5’2. So when she was driving i would be fully smashed into the dash or she would have a bunch of throw cushions. Then we had our son and the only way to rig a child seat is in the center. One day we were driving down the 80 and his legs had become long enough that he could kick the truck out of gear. After a few times of that we decided that moment to trade in the truck for a 4-door. Deal was good although the payments extended way out, but the impulse buy was an excellent fit for our growing family!

Massage chair.
Some tequilas.
Quite a few weekend spur of moment hop on a plane getaways.
Top ten best Italian dinner....in Tulsa.

Banana Boat Aloe Vera lip balm (45SPF). Doesn't melt in the car or on a hot day as badly as my old standby brands. Holds up to swimming pretty well (in my pocket). Also splurged on Bare Republic mineral sunscreen a year or two ago. It's perfect for the tops of your hands and can be applied quickly while rowing and isn't as bad for your gear as the normal stuff. I primarily use it on my hands/forearms though. Still effective after a couple years too, which you can't say about most sunscreens.
