Legend
A number of days this week have produced some horrific hail storms across Montana.
Shepherd, MT, just east of Billings, a few hours ago.

Some areas of the state have gotten tennis ball to baseball sized hail.
Here's some 'smaller' stuff.

Eastern Montana does get pounded every so often. I used to have cousins there. Were yo back there, Dean?

No, but I'll be back in Billings next month. So far Mom's house has been able to dodge the bullet through this series of evening storms.
She's had three new roofs in the past 12 years. Ironically, her homeowners is due for renewal and the agent suggested that we up her Wind and Hail deductible by 2500$ to save about 200$ each year...not being a betting man that was an easy "hell no" for me.

While there is a lot of damage to buildings and vehicles what one doesn't immediately think about is crops, livestock, and wildlife,
This is a picture taken at Big Lake, 35 miles west of Billings, after a 2019 event. MT FWP estimated that 11,000 birds were injured or killed in this immediate area.
