The original knife thread.

When I lived in Vermont I got to know the guys at State surplus. They had a barrel of knives that they got from TSA at the local airport. Most of my knives are from there, at rock bottom prices.

Later on, the state got smarter and started looking up values online before selling the seized knives, so my source dried up.
 
According to the Schrade geeks, this is a second production year LB7. 1978. Doesn't appear to have ever been used.
I had one of those since 1979 until it was taken in my day pack along with my briefcase in a smash & grab in 2010 in Seattle. I lost a lot of cool stuff in that little heist. Man that knife held a keen edge; hardly ever had to sharpen it.
 
My father and I went on a Grand Canyon backpacking trip in 1990. We hiked in on the Hermit trail, stayed a night in Travertine canyon, and finally reached the river on day 3 near Boucher Rapids.

Our riverside campsite was a bed of sand on a rock about 10’ above the riverbank/beach. When we started setting up the camp my dad spotted a piece if shock cord sticking a 1/2” or so above the sand. He pulled out this old locking blade Swiss Army knife. He gave it to me, really had to work at it to get it to open.
It has been a great pocket knife.

Figured I’d ask here: does anyone have a good way to sharpen a convex (like an axe blade in cross section) grind blade? The info I’ve found online is confusing or has contradictory directions (one site says one way, another source says another).

I’ve a knife that’s getting fairly dull and has a convex grind on it. I can sharpen a flat grind blade (as on most knives, chisels, planes, etc), but convex knife? Not yet.
