I found this pic recently. Obviously the round tube dates me back to probably the early 2000's. Maybe earlier. There is another thread about lenice fish size. Here's an example of "back in the day". 20+" brown, on a size 20 Griffiths gnat, on 2lb ultragreen. The pic was taken with a $4k hasselblad on medium format. The actual pic I took this from is 18"x24".

The Hasselblad lenses were remarkable. Enlargements from transparencies or negatives (that were properly focused) were often stunning. The tonal gradations, color rendition, and lack of any "grain" made prints from these lenses truly special. Sadly this is an archaic concept in our modern digital world, but the prints and film will always be there for us to enjoy.

also caught a big brown from that lake on very windy day in the 80’s in my round tube. Found a sheltered spot and one of my best days there many nice rainbows on mids and then a crusty old 6lb brown came along. Still have that round tube though I would hurt myself trying to get into now.
Not there if referring to mine. I'm getting PM's asking about that place though. In my case back then, I was searching old stocking reports for 9 or 10 year old plants. I found a handful of uncommon lakes that fit the bill and hit on one of my early attempts. Try as I did to repeat, it didn't happen again but I learned a lot about odds, reality, where to look and what to expect. Most importantly, how to find what no one else is looking for.
There were a few south sound lakes they used to put browns in that offered excellent fishing for them.
Those stocking all now seem to be in past. Those lakes put out some sizable browns and some of those fish had access to spawning creeks. That may be part of the reason for the stockings no longer happening. Fear they may interfere with anadromous fish.
There is also a pond in SW WA that we used to catch browns in during the summer fishing grasshopper patterns. That was a ton of fun!

It was Fall 1968 when Dad told us boys about a lake in E WA he just heard about and shortly thereafter we arrived at Lenice late on a Saturday morning.
As I remember it, there wasn't much of trail to the lake. On our way in we we passed a tall thin old mustachioed man coming back from the lake. We said 'hi' as we passed and Dad said to me, "That's Enos Bradner."
My memories continue to fade, but I recall we didn't catch a lot of fish yet I don't think any were under 20 inches.
