Switch rod Beulah 10’8”

an 11' 9 wt Beulah was my all time fave for OH casting to coastal King's, bombed a 450 gr short head in front of a running line...pick it up and let it rip. Pretty sure all Beulah switches, when suitably lined, make great OH casting tools

There Opal 2-hand rod is a legendary overhead casting rod, so it's in their DNA. They claim, on their website, the switch rods are also overhead able .

I bought an Opal 2 a few months ago.
Newbie to the overhead cast but getting dialed in quickly. Members recommended the Beulah over the Echo if a faster action is needed. I've isolated some lines in the 300g range which work pretty well with 5/6 rod.
I really like this rod but honestly feel like the price point was maybe a little steep. Sold a few rods to help.

Don’t be afraid to go heavy on the line. I have a Beulah Opal 8/9 that I have yet to fish as I picked it up for strip bass fishing but have not been back to Santa Cruz for quite some time now. I did pick up the Beulah switch rod that I will hopefully be trying out this salmon season. I plan on linking it with a Rio 10wt coastal quick shooter at 425 grains.

The Classics are fantastic rods. I have the 4/5 and 5/6. 4/5 is great for overhead casting a 6wt line. Good for float tube rod. 5/6 can be cast overhead but I prefer two handing it.
