Thanksan 11' 9 wt Beulah was my all time fave for OH casting to coastal King's, bombed a 450 gr short head in front of a running line...pick it up and let it rip. Pretty sure all Beulah switches, when suitably lined, make great OH casting tools
Thanks
Don’t be afraid to go heavy on the line. I have a Beulah Opal 8/9 that I have yet to fish as I picked it up for strip bass fishing but have not been back to Santa Cruz for quite some time now. I did pick up the Beulah switch rod that I will hopefully be trying out this salmon season. I plan on linking it with a Rio 10wt coastal quick shooter at 425 grains.I bought an Opal 2 a few months ago.
Newbie to the overhead cast but getting dialed in quickly. Members recommended the Beulah over the Echo if a faster action is needed. I've isolated some lines in the 300g range which work pretty well with 5/6 rod.
I really like this rod but honestly feel like the price point was maybe a little steep. Sold a few rods to help.
Which model? The "Classic" is a great rod.
Any one have or have used one of these for two hand over head casting? Have a change to pick up one.
