Strange, weird or odd or whatever beach finds thread….

Aye, but it didn’t rhyme.

I do, though, appreciate the depth of your knowledge and ability to ID a fish from a shitty photo.

Interesting that the flounders are up high enough in the water column that osprey target them. Or, maybe it’s when they come into the shallows to feed or are dragged there on the end of a tippet and hook?

Cheers!
These small starry flounders are often in 2-3 feet of water, on a gin clear tide with light right they are easy to see when moving, hard to see when waiting to pounce. One of the cooler sights is watching them swim away as you move over top of them, they kick up a sand trail. They seem to be food of choice for local osprey and there is a really good chance that Eagle stole that flounder from an Osprey cos that's one of their favorite moves....

Can't wait to hear how it works.

Not salt water, but during a hike along the Spokane River in the early 1980's I was taken back by the sight of a nude human body floating face down not far from shore. Not uncommon for the Spokane...lots of bridge jumpers and foolish river users end up in similar straits on this river.

Feeling nauseous, I nonetheless grabbed a long deadfall limb, and waded in to attempt a recovery...

Imagine my relief when the 'body' turned out to be someone's discarded inflatable love interest.

@Divad , is this you?

😆 that’s what I almost thought too. That guy probably brought in the jar teeth clenched, with a sniffle and proceeded to deliver the find full flex hulk style.
