Strange, weird or odd or whatever beach finds thread….

Definitely looks like a bite to me. Here is a pic I took.
Paging @Cabezon for his thoughts.

It could have been a victim of Brigg's killer whale attack, but I would have expected that the animal would have been consumed more completely as this species hunts in family groups (typically 4 individuals). Another alternative is that the seal died somehow (natural causes, boat strike, gunshot....), and its carcass was scavenged by a shark, perhaps broadnose seven-gill shark or a salmon shark that managed a bite or two before carcass washed up on the beach. That is a pretty circular bite, consistent with a shark. Just speculation.

Thanks for the info! That helps a lot.

I want to know how close you guys were to gagging when getting up to do that close up photo.... I came across a similar white (skinned?) seal carcass this summer and holy smokes was it ripe in the worst ways....

That looks like a clipped coconut! I haven't punched the coconut ticket this year, and am wondering if maybe when the four planets align (pink, humpy, silver and coho) things would get better for the someone in hooking the ole C'nut. Glad it was you Brian, you certainly put in the time. Don't forget to write it down on your catch card!

Saw this from the kayak today, that driftwood looks like a wooden horse

So this popped up on another social media platform. Many know this place.
I guess this guy heard humpies like pink worms. More odd year beach weirdness. 😂
