....a February Musky to make my months complete...

but not a few February CAPR!!!! I found a few, mostly 2-4lbs, with one that I got lucky with as I started targeting a couple of "trophies" for this body of water that was just a hair over 6lb. 🍻

For February, I'll take it!

There are also 2 mirrors in here, Bob & Jim. Bob is probably in the 7lb neighborhood by now while Jim is in the 2lb range. I still have not caught either one....hooked Bob last year, but did not land.

very true. I just can't handle the cold as much these days. Especially with my favorite way to fish for them, out of my Outcast Stealth Pro with fins.

see any bass enjoying the shallows?
Speaking for Clarkman here... but I legitimately don't think there's bass in these particular spots.

Come to think of it, I rarely if ever see bass in my carp flats anywhere.

I may have to join you in my Outcast Stealth Pro for a Capr outing later this spring…

Evan's spot on here. I can count on one hand on most of the flats that I fish the times I've caught or seen bass....actually, can count on two fingers.

ah, the Outcast was referencing the musky comment above. That said, there are some spots that I really want to explore that require a boat of some sorts to get to.

Really?
I see carp in my bass spots constantly!

Did the common carp cough up the personally identifying info of the mirror ones, or are those your code names?
Asking for a friend

PII...it was weird.

some of the spots I fish, I guess I do regularly see baby bass, so adults are probably somewhere around at some point...

Then again, I'm often so focused on searching for carp.

Getting carp blocked by a baby bass is slightly less annoying than getting blocked by bluegill. This lil dude did it and paid the ultimate price. He blocked me, I saw the carp swim away, felt nothing, then I went to re-cast and we had flying bluegill. Poor dude ended up in some rocks behind me. 😁 We found him the next day.

Did you have tartar sauce to go with that?

I don't fish for carp but that doesn't stop them from ending up on the end of my line when I'm fishing for LMB. I didn't know carp would try to eat baitfish patterns I use for bass but sometimes they do.
