Good Afternoon!

This is my first post here as ive never fished WA before. I’m getting out of the military at the end of the month and am looking to take a road trip up to the OP area to fish for steelhead! Ive convinced 3 of my buddies to come with me and need guide recommendations for the 4 of us!

I’d love any recommendations on who we should go with and any other places we should go hit to fish for trout with our smaller gear on the way back!

Thanks so much everyone! TIA!

Not a lot of streams options just for trout this time of year, but plenty of beaches you could fish for searun cutts on your way back.
Thanks for your service.

My advice would be to put in a couple inquiries quickly. February starts "high season" for wild fish, and the guides get booked up fast.

I fish with Jim Kerr regularly, and he is awesome, both as a person and guide. His associate, Ryan, is absurdly fishy and another good dude. I'd definitely recommend them, but last I checked (early Jan.) they were down to just a couple days in late Jan. and Feb. March was already full.

Luis would also be great if you can get him. If you've got 4 guys, you're probably going to need 2 guides, so be sure to mention that.

If things are crazy in Forks and you have trouble finding guides, you might also look into fishing the Queets or the Quinault with a Quinault guide. I don't know any of them, but I hear at least a couple do fly fishing and do it well. Non-tribal folks can't fish where they can this year, so it should be less crowded, and both those rivers are amazing places.

Good luck, and have fun!
