Spring… already?

No bull frogs croaking for a couple of months. Tree frogs have not stopped since spring.

Just happy we are getting some rain. But we need snow in the mountains.

Here in the Poconos, it feels like anything but spring. Single digits last few nights; wind chills will be below zero tonight. We will have a white Christmas.

Well, at least you don’t have to put up with croaking frogs for the time being!
Seriously? We very much enjoy the sounds of frogs croaking in our backyard water features.

I guess it's very individual...my mother absolutely could not stand the sound of ocean waves gently lapping against the beach sand.

It was tongue in cheek… I like frogs.

Just that it’s a little odd that they’re croaking at Christmas time.

While a white Christmas might be fun, this is what I really care about

We're in that 131% zone, but I think it's deceptive as overall it seems things are pretty dry. Looking at a good shot of moisture after Christmas if predictions hold.
Fish still seem to be in fall holding positions and there was a hatch of larger mayflies and caddis among other bugs yesterday. Still waiting for winter to show up.

I think one countdown a calender year is probably about right...so anytime after Jan. 1st should be good to go...but still there's just been no real frost out here, just incessant rain lately.
I blame @Stonedfish for that.
The baseball thread is already annoyingly early...
;)
