Some new shorts I'm stoked on

Well, by the third day of my last bass trip I needed to cover up mild sunburn, and found I was down to red & black buffalo plaid leggings, socks with my green Tevas, and a lavender sun shirt. o_O

The fish didn't seem put off by it

Seriously, tho - IMO, leggings are perfect for fishing. Full length sun protection, and they're essentially swimsuit material. Comfy sitting or standing. Some warmth when dry in the cool mornings, splash em to stay cool in the hot sun, nothing for hooks or lines to catch on, easy to swim in if necessary.
My tan/aqua camo ones are pretty spiffy for flats fishing.

Wake and bake is no way to go through life...

Wondering what sort of 'Karen' goes around passing judgement on what other people wear, and an even more 'Karen' activity by deciding what's appropriate so their eyes aren't offended by others poor fashion choices...and where they find time for such vapid pursuits.

I'm just waiting to see what umbrella gives Swimmy good stoke...cause I'm like in need of one and don't know which one to buy.

I look at this as a marathon. It is not so much about running hard now but can I sustain it for the long haul. The last thing I want to is to be 70 and unable to function because of my health. I see a lot of it in my parent's neighborhood in Arizona. Shit eventually catches up.

I got @Salmo_g, @_WW_ , and @Roper coming over in a few weeks. Three of my elders who are pretty fit and active. When I'm that age I want to be functional and so I'm putting in the effort now.

If we make good decisions when we are younger, even small things, it can really make a difference as we age. Doesn't guarantee anything but I will control what I can control.

I'm not going to ask if you ever quit smoking as you don't need me to tell you. But dude, we all love ya and hope to be busting each other's balls 20 years from now on this same forum.

Well, there have been a couple days that you could wear shorts under your waders.

Does that count?
 
My recommendation was for a short that does it all: fish, golf, hike, out with friends for a nice dinner downtown or a casual backyard bar-b-q. It is a great piece for any spring/summer wardrobe.

Now, as we've seen, for many here shorts recommendations can be a sensitive topic. Understandable. But it takes a pretty special group of e-friends to be able to work through these contentious debates and come to a consensus.

For that, I commend you all.

Interesting you bring this up now as we are in the middle of one of the biggest rain events I can remember in SW Montana. I feel like Im living in Forks.

But I actually keep umbrellas in my drift boat. Now now, many here (similar to some of my friends in real life) might call me soft. But sitting under an umbrella during a rain shower on the river is one of life’s simple pleasures.

You think folks get triggered on a discussion around shorts? Wait till we do umbrellas.

But yes, I do have recs. And will share soon.

I got one of those umbrellas with the sword in the butt. It's awesome. You can filler your catch or defend yourself in a gentleman's duel. Pretty versatile kit right there.
