Some new shorts I'm stoked on

Just curious if the folks here that think that people should be dressing different while out in society, are also the same people who were anti maskers. I wonder where that Venn Diagram connects?

The average American does look like shit. More than two thirds of Americans are overweight or obese and for the first time in my life (I think) our life expectancy is going down. Thems the facts.
Just to help you out a bit here, your first statement about the average American looking like shit, is an opinion, not a fact as you so stated.

Who established your overweight marker? Was it by any chance people in the medical field? Do you trust those in medicine to determine these things?

What do you put in all of those pockets? I carry a slim wallet, keys, and a phone. What else do you really need?
At the minimum, a knife, even if it's a small Swiss Army knife. Humans are tool users. Knives are tools. For the life of me, I do not understand any man who doesn't need to carry a knife at all times. Unless you're a millenial who thinks his iphone is a fvcking tool, when it's more a distraction than not. (Rant over.) Additonally I carry SPF chap stick because, well sun happens, even here in western WA occasionally. And a comb (cuz, to follow your thinking, chicks dig guys who keep themselves looking good). Oh, and a small leather pouch for coins, cuz I don't like a bunch of loose change falling out of my pocket; it's really cool, I'll show you next month. And let's see, a face mask cuz there are still places that require wearing one in order to enter. And lastly, a handkerchief, for two reasons; I'm innately messy and always seem to spill something that needs cleaning up, and I have minor allergies, but they're enough to keep me sneezing year around. Ergo, shorts and pants must have at least four pockets, or they are not functional for me.

And while I make it a point to not be so judgemental, I do find myself wondering why someone would wear sweat pants or pajamas to the grocery store. Cuz no fvcking pockets!

First, I'm not an anti-masker. In fact I tended to begrudge those who refused to wear masks in enclosed public spaces during the pandemic. Although lately I'm more ambivalent; the Covid situation has changed - we have vaccines and boosters and infections are less severe, case rates are up again with people becoming infected despite all their precautions. I'm mainly a live-and-let-live kind of person. Yet it does puzzle me to see people wearing sweat pants or pajamas in the grocery store. Maybe it's because I don't own any pajamas, and if I went to the grocery store dressed the way I sleep - nekked - I wouldn't have a pocket for my wallet.

Not an anti masker.

I appreciate places with dress codes.

Restaurants
Airplanes
Schools
Etc.

Is a mask even effective against the monkey pox??

Maybe when you are here we kind find you a little man purse for all that shit.

Wrong!

I said $80 for these shorts is a bargain....when you see how awesome they are.

Shorts are awesome? Wow, $80 for awesome shorts, double wow - what some folks place importance on. Have several pairs of convertible pants for half the price; pants that can be shorts, wow - I can start out in the cool of the morning with pants, then when hit heats up, viola, shorts - now that's awesome, ... Not, just smart - and half the price.

... But, if shorts is what turns your crank, well, good on ya.

Cheers

Whoa, there is a lot here (much of which I agree) that has little to do with my post. I think you are reading too much into it. I'm not telling you how to live your life. I'm suggesting that people who put in the effort of trying to look good might lead to a healthier and happier life. Didn't realize that was so offensive.

And I have to point out that in your first response you said to stay away from girls who care about how I dress. You basically did exactly what you are telling me not to do.

Finally, the Carhart thing. What do you put in all of those pockets? I carry a slim wallet, keys, and a phone. What else do you really need?
No, I said they were the wrong girls. But maybe they work for you. I like girls who care about things I believe are more important, and I abhor waiting for someone to put themselves together to a degree I deem frivolous before going out in public. My wife gets me for what's at my core, and we find it really easy to be together, neither one of us is really into being fashionable, we're both a bit overweight, but we ski 50-60 days a year, ride motorcycles, hike, work in the garden and around our place, and if you called us unfit, you would be wrong.
My carharrts carry a wallet that I would like to be slim, but I can't seem to get rid of anything else I carry in it so it's not. A Kershaw Leek rides in a pocket, or something close depending on what I'm doing. Quite often there is a tape measure, nearly always a phone. They have pockets that work well for a torpedo level and smaller wrenches can often be found there. I spend a lot of time at home building things out of metal and wood, and maintaining the stuff associated with our hobby farm. If I am fishing, there are two pockets that can handle my go to fly boxes, and I prefer not to carry that stuff up high if I can. That only works on small water, most of your pictures are of places where it wouldn't matter what kind of shorts I had, as I would likely be in waders anyway.
Being the way I am, if I tried to be attractive to women who cared mostly about the way I appear, then I would be stuck trying to be someone I'm not, or worse, dishonest.
Maybe you are not telling others how to dress or what to eat or that they should work out more, but sometimes you do come across that way. Sorry if I got you wrong.

Also rocking the Kershaw leek, my favorite knife. I just emptied 1 pocket and I'm also carrying a little notebook I have my never ending lists in, a flash drive, and an old paper mask.

You just don't get it, do you Swimmy? The reason a purse is the wrong application is that it can be set down, misplaced, or lost. Pockets are where it's at man! Whatever is in your pocket is with you always, unless you set it down. A wise man instructed me in my youth about pocket knives. It's called a pocket knife because there are two places, and two places only, where that knife belongs - in your hand or in your pocket. If you set it down you will likely lose it or at least misplace it. Never set it down! That applies to the other things carried in my pockets as well. Some people are all the time losing their keys. WTF! Keys belong in your hand locking or unlocking something, in the lock or vehicle ignition, or in your pocket. People who adopt this habit never lose their keys. A man purse only sounds like a good idea or joke until you analyze it.

To me those two things are one and the same. So back when I had my arm in a cast and was unable to button up my Levis I had to wear my pajamas everywhere for two months. Lucky for me I had more than one pair!

After an extensive surgery a month and a half ago I'm still alternating from PJ's to sweats along with what I call my "Walmart shoes". :D
